I have noticed that my senses have heighten greatly since going on this juice feast. My eye sight is getting much clearer, to a point that I often forget to wear my glasses for long periods of time. My sense of smell has also increased which, let me tell you, is not that great of a thing in New York City. New York smells like garbage and car exhaust. I've never noticed before.
This morning I then returned to juicing and have decided to reread "There is a Cure for Diabetes" by Gabriel Cousens. I figured it would be a good in between book since I finished the absolutely incredible "Conscious Loving". As I was reading I began to noticed a pattern in their ideals for juicing, 2 pounds of leafy green vegetables a day. It is a fact I am well aware of, but then I got to a section on the types of juicers to use. The thing that caught my attention was that the pulp should be dry, which it is for everything except the leafy greens.
Missing out on leafy greens won't make this a successful fast, because they are essential for life. Yes, my juices have been much better then what I had been eating, TONS better in fact, but not good enough.
This is where decision making comes into play. Do I continue on this fast and up my intake of super green foods such as spirulina and chlorella... or do I break the feasting until I can get a juicer that works better for leafy greens and eat a very strict raw foods diet to cleanse. I have decided I am going to go with the program described in "There is a Cure for Diabetes" and eat a strict diet until my symptoms of toxicity have cleared up.
It is late and I am going to the farmers market in Union Square tomorrow to go buy plenty of organic, locally grown, greens. I am very excited to continue this health journey.
What's your dream juicer?xxkimi
ReplyDeleteGreen Star juicers are really amazing. They are very capable of juicing all kinds of veggies, including the leafy greens.
