2012 and I feel Great

The past few months I have been slowly eating more and more raw food in prep for this New Year. 2012, a new year and a new me. A lot has happened over the last few months that has finally lead me to make the full on plunge back into Raw food. In addition to eat raw food I will be taking this year to train for a marathon. Yep, I am going to train for a marathon. Now don't worry I have a plan for the training that won't kill me.

The first 10 weeks is a program called couch to 5K which is building up the strength and stamina to run a 5k after ten weeks of training. After that I will be following programs recommended by runnersworld.com (which I will post on here once I do more research)which take another 10 weeks. I will take a few weeks to get accustomed to the 10K runs and then will spend another 10 weeks training for a half marathon. I am looking at about 35 weeks of my year right there. Again, I will sit on the half marathon training for an addition few weeks and then spend the last 10 weeks building up to a full marathon. Most likely the Marathon I will attempt to participate in will be the Los Angeles marathon in March of 2013, which gives me another 3 months to train at marathon pace.

Many people have questioned me about setting such a huge goal right off the bat, but I need something to work towards. I won't punish myself if the timing is off or if it takes me longer to get to where I need to be to run the varying distances, but I will participate in a marathon in 2013, even if it means walking some of the distance.

I am sick of doctors telling me I can't heal myself. Every time I eat raw they find another reason as to why my blood sugar is coming under control. The second anything is off they want to push pills down my throat. Well I am going to let my food be my medicine. I am going to find natural ways to cure myself, because these pills don't make me feel better they make me feel worse.

2012 will be a year of Raw food, nutritional studies, running, and blogging. My friend Lauren is going to help me document the happenings and I will post results from various tests and training programs. I am very excited to take my health into my own hands and to find what works for me to make me better.
