-Diabetes Type 1 (which is wayyyyy out of control)
-Microalbumine in my urine (early signs of kidney failure)
-Discoloration in my feet (Looks like freckles but is actually a lack of oxygen)
-Weight gain (I'm at an unideal weight of 215 lbs at this point in my life... aka Not healthy)
-Feeling fatigued
-Depression
That is the basic list, but it could go on. Instead of contemplating the parts of my life that have turned in a direction that I don't want to go, I have decided to just turn right around and start going toward the path I want, truly within my heart and soul, to follow.
Today is day 1 of a juice feast and an anti-television watching 30 days.
I am going by the guidance of Juicefeast.com for my juicing this next month. So far so good, but it is only day, so we'll see how things progress. I suspect that the detoxing of my body will begin shortly. I have also ordered a couple of things to help me detox quicker and give me the nutrients I need. Juicing in itself will do a great job getting me healthier, but after years of neglecting my body and my health, well lets just say I can use all the help I can get.
So why no television? Because I waste hours of time watching television which does nothing for my mind, it's just there to numb my mind... and often it's not even that good. I will stick to watching documentaries, video posts from raw food bloggers and other juicers, and reading.
The first book on my list is one recommended by my good friend David, "Conscious Loving".
Anyway, that's what I have for day 1!
Hey Jen Jen! I'm so proud of your for taking control! As you may or may not know- I am an infomercial junkie and as such I have come across juicing products in my time of infomercial watching and I remembered that one of the best ones I've seen is the jack Lalanne Juicer. This site: http://juicerrecipesnow.com/ is sort of a sister site to his juicer. it has all sorts of juice recipes on it. Just thought it might be a good resource for you :) Miss you tons! I am trying to find some time to get up there to see you all again. Let me know if there is a time that's best for you guys- love you!

Hey Danielley!
ReplyDeleteThe problem with the Jack Lalanne Juices is its a centrifugal juicer. This means that the juice is literally thrown out of the veggies. This is fine for vegetable that have high liquid content, but not so great for leafy greens. Centrifugal juicers are used primarily for carrots, celery, cucumber, apples... ect type juicing. These are great to have in the diet, but having a minimum of 2 lbs of leafy greens is essential to health.
