New York is Magical

I have been in New York now for a little over a day. The only word I can find to sum it up right now is magical. Already I find words flowing through my head to write and melodies filling my heart. I have also started writing letters to friends in Boulder that I will send out the next couple of day.

The neighborhood I live in is absolutely wonderful. In one direction you have Prospect Park and the beautiful Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic gardens, and Brooklyn Library. The other direction has a street which reminds me a lot of the Mission in San Francisco. Lots of hole in the wall shops and bargain stores. There is this one little organic grocery store that also sells fresh juices which are superbly delicious and cheap which I have fallen in love with. Just one subway stop away (or a nice one mile walk) is a shopping center with a Guitar Center, Target, DSW, and Chuckie Cheese's.... basically if you wanted to be a stalker and figure out where I live I have just given you enough information to find my neighborhood.

Most of my time so far has been in Brooklyn, but I have gone to see my new store (5th Ave) and it is BEAUTIFUL. I spent some time just walking around Manhattan. The thing I love with NY is that you can walk in any random direction for a few blocks and then once you want to go home you can basically just find a subway station and go (Unlimited ride Metro Pass is the way to go!).

Tonight will be some bonding with my roommie Alex and then tomorrow I might try and go see a show during the evening. I also want to go try out a yoga class (GASP JENNY AND YOGA?!?!?!).

Basically I am in love with this city already. (Just FYI as I wrote that last line an ice cream truck drove through my neighborhood.... amazing)
